Early Head Start
6 WEEKS – 36 MONTHS
The Early Head Start-Child Care partnership is a comprehensive child development program that serves children from 6 weeks to age three and their families. We are a child-focused program and have the overall goal of promoting school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of low-income children and their families. This program provides a safe, nurturing environment while promoting physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.

Preschool Program
36 MONTHS – 5 YEARS
The PICDC also offers a comprehensive preschool program, which serves children from 18 months to four years. All classes are conducted in newly renovated classrooms. The creative curriculum standards are used to implement content-rich developmentally appropriate programs, that support active learning. The children are taught in a relaxed family style atmosphere that also includes meals, a rest period and assistance in the initiation of potty-training.
Tuition is based on a sliding scale according to the family income. Financial assistance and some scholarships are available. Every teacher employed with PICDC must undergo specialized training and have completed course work specific to children from 36 months to five years. Our teachers provide a warm and nurturing environment to guide the little ones through the fundamental years.

Enrollment Procedure
The Pawleys Island Child Development Center requires that all children meet the health and safety requirements of the State and of our center. The following information must be presented upon enrollment and as requested at various times during the year:

Permission Slips
Child Release Forms
First Aid & Medical Authorizations
The Pawleys Island Child Development Center accepts applications Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Parents are encouraged to tour the facility and the classroom their child may be attending. There is a non-refundable application fee due at the time the application is picked up. Applications are reviewed on a first come first serve basis.
